Springwood Community Kindergarten offers two (2) kindergarten classes for five (5) days per fortnight. Children attend either Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays; or Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays. Adult/child ratio is a maximum of 22 children in each group with a qualified early childhood teacher and a teaching assistant. Program hours run from 8:45 am to 2:45 pm.

Kindy age requirements

Your child must be 4 years old by June 30 to participate in a kindergarten program.

2022 We are accepting enrolments.

***Please note: Our waiting list is open for all years and while there are currently no vacancies for 2018, you are welcome to put your child's name on our waiting list in case a vacancy becomes available.

Enrolment Process

1. Download the Enrolment Application Form. Alternatively, you can telephone the centre and we will post or email you a copy.

2. Complete the form and return to the centre.

3. There is a $10 application fee that is payable when you submit your application form. This fee can be paid by:

  • Cheque
  • Direct deposit. Please ensure that you use your name as a Reference so that we can track your payment. See below for direct deposit details.
  • If you are enrolling multiple children in one session, only one fee of $10.00 is required.

Enrolment Notification

Families of children offered a place will be contacted from July/August onwards in the year before their child is due to attend. If for any reason your child may need special assistance, please notify the centre once you are aware, so that planning can occur to best support the needs of your child.

Our 2018 Statement of Fees is available. Fees are $36.00 per day for 2018.

Some parents may be eligible to receive the Child Care Benefit. More information on eligibility is available.

QKFS Plus Kindy Support

QKFS Plus Kindy Support provides low or no-cost kindy to eligible families.

The subsidy is provided directly to your service provider to reduce your out of pocket expenses (your provider must be an approved kindergarten program provider).

You will be eligible if you:

  • hold a current Australian Government Health Care Card (or have a child who does)
  • are a foster family with a current Australian Government Health Care Card
  • identify as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (or have a child who does)
  • have 3 or more children, of the same age, enrolled in the same year.
